Hamburger pie

Filling

  • Pastry for one 9" pie crust
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried ground oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 15 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper (optional)

Combine all ingredients and spread in pie crust.

Cheese topping

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon each salt, dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheese

Mix together and spread over filling.

Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes, covering the edges with foil for the last 10 minutes.
